Custom Stage Lift Platforms
Custom stage lift platforms with rigid-chain drive options: review platform load, travel, pit space, guidance, synchronization and controls for your venue.
Request an engineering reviewStage lift platforms for changing performance layouts
A stage lift moves part of the stage floor between defined levels. The first selection question is what the platform must carry and how it will be used: scenery transfer, a raised performance area, a stage extension or a group of coordinated platforms. The lifting mechanism and structural layout follow that operating brief.
Zhonghui supplies custom rigid-chain lifting platforms for stage applications. Rigid-chain drives are one available approach; they are not an automatic substitute for every hydraulic or scissor installation. The choice must account for moving load, travel, pit space, guidance, operating duty and maintenance access.
Stage lift specification checklist
| Selection item | Project definition |
|---|---|
| Platform and load | Declare the deck dimensions, self-weight, payload, load distribution and intended moving load cases. |
| Levels and stroke | Show lower and upper levels, intermediate stops and the surrounding stage construction. |
| Installation envelope | Include pit depth, drive and guide locations, structural supports and maintenance routes. |
| Coordinated movement | State whether platforms move individually or in a group and define the required position feedback. |
| Control interfaces | Identify the venue controller, local controls, status feedback, travel limits and emergency-stop interfaces. |
| Supply and acceptance | Agree drawing approval, fabrication boundaries, installation, commissioning and records required for handover. |
A system design, not a catalogue-size shortcut
The supporting platform, guides, lifting points and drive system must be reviewed together. For a large or segmented stage floor, the engineering review also needs the structural load cases and the consequences of uneven loading. A model number by itself does not establish suitability for a venue.
The SL500 lift table shown elsewhere on this site is a reference product with its own published dimensions and travel. It is not presented as a standard main-stage platform. Dimensions, load, travel and motion behavior for a custom stage lift are confirmed in the project drawings.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a stage lift and an orchestra pit lift?
Both move a platform between levels, but the operating brief differs. A pit lift must address the musicians, seating and forestage relationship; a stage lift may be designed around scenery transfer or a changing stage-floor layout.
Can several platforms move together?
Coordinated multi-point operation is an available system configuration. The drive arrangement, feedback, alignment and control interfaces must be defined for the actual platform group.
Is the system intended to move performers?
Declare that requirement before selection. People-carrying operation requires a project-specific design and review; this page does not grant approval based on a component rating.
What should be sent for a preliminary proposal?
Provide a dimensioned stage plan and section, moving load, target levels, travel, operating duty, available installation space and the required control interfaces.
